The Honda Pilot's owners manual calls for the initial VTM fluid change under normal service at 15000 miles whereas my MDX manual said 7500 miles.

Does anyone have any idea why this discrepancy exists on VTM change intervals?

I doubt that the VTM unit has been changed, did Honda just decide that the fluid change at 7500 miles was overkill and not necessary?

2003 MDX owners, has the manual been changed to 15000 miles?

You have got an "EAGLE EYE"!:) I had wondered myself why the VTM fluid needed to be changed at such small intervals. I am at 7100 miles right now so the annoying "maintenance required" light is flashing. I am not going to shut it off just yet. Premium Gas vs. Regular Gas on the Pilot. 7500 miles vs. 15000 miles on the Pilot. I would be willing to bet that the parts are the same on both VTM's. Interesting Eagle.

I will check the manual tonight but I seem to recall only oil change and tire rotation at 7500 mi.

hockeyplayer,

the "Maintenance Required" light will start flashs every 7500 miles interval. In most case, it could be just OIL changes and Tire Rotation. It is annoying, but at least it tells you it is time to ROTATE tires. :D

I recall the VTM fluid is to be changed after the first 7,500 miles. After the 1st change the interval is much longer.
