| I made a CD by converting some MP3 files to WAV files. It plays just fine on several jam boxes at home as well as the CD player attached to my home stereo. However, it does NOT play on the CD player or the DVD player in the MDX. Has anyone else made their own CD's and played them successfully in the X? |

| Yes, but not as WAV files, as far as I know. I've created audio CDs from collections of MP3 files using the "Burn CD" option, which puts them in redbook audio format, which is the standard for most CD players. They work fine in my 'X. |

| I have had no problem playing any CDs in the MDX. I do make copy of CDs all the time. |

The MDX only plays audio CDs. No WAV files, no MP3.
Burn an audio format CD and it will play. |

| Yep, that's probably my problem - WAV files. I will do as suggested. Thanks. |

| When I made my own labels, they would always get stuck in the CD . If I write on a CD with a fiber tip , I never have problems ! |

If they peel back even slightly due to the heat inside the changer or the car they can get stuck. I use Sharpies for everything. |

I do some of each - some sharpie and some sticker labels.
I have a little device that helps you press the label on evenly and securely, and I've never had a label come off or cause problems playing. |

| No problems here with home brewed cd's. I also only use a Sharpie. |

| By the way, what application do you guys use to download your music? Been using Limewire, but interested in your feedback. |

Kazaa lite. All the features of Kazaa without the spyware.
But the majority of my music I buy the CD's. I only download a few tracks to try them out (no, really, I do). |

Yup! works magic for me!
Also, no problems with labels, I use Memorex CD Labelmaker kit. |

| The in dash cd changer and underseat changer work fine but my home "burned" cds will not work in the RES. Do you all have the same problem? |

Hey Rgouz,
As posted already, u need to convert to RA format, not WAV. WAV has for some reason been whored out in terms of popularity, as is the .com domain (most people are STILL clueless about the difference between .com, .net, .org, etc. are, sheesh!)
Anyway, to do it...just use the software that came with your CD burner! Alternatively just download Musicmatch, it is great and it's free. |

No problem~~~~~
When you burn the audio CD, make sure you select "AUDIO" instead of "DATA". |
