I am looking to custom install my wife's new Valentine One radar detector remote. Has anyone ever removed the black instrument cluster surround piece?
If you remove the two screws, does the surround come out or is the black piece a part of the complete instrument cluster?
Is there room to sink the V-1 remote into the black instrument cluster surround?

| I removed it many times to install my custom gauges. Just remove the two screws and carefully give it a stern tug and it will pop out, but be careful. Don't tear the wires running to the VTM and light adjuster hooked to the buttons. |
