Best way to get vehicles shipped? - Click HERE for Original Thread

If I buy a vehicle on-line(Ebay), most likely I would need to get it shipped using resources like http://www.movecars.com/. There are many attractive auctions I would like to bid on, but the only thing is, I don't know if I trust these vehicle transportation services. I live on the east coast and most of these auctions are based out of places like Seattle, L.A., Las Vegas, Denver, and Dallas.
Has anyone purchased a vehicle off Ebay and used these services? If so, would you recommend it? Or shall I just trek cross-country to pick it up and drive it back?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Get a copy of "Hemmings Motor News" at a good book or magazine store. It is the bible of collector and custom cars and has numerous car transporters listed in the "services" section. I have used several on occasion with no problem. The big thing is to call around and try to find someone that is making a run in the general direction that you want to move a car. You can often work a deal with a transporter that has brought a load into the area where you want to haul out off and would like very much to have a paying load going home rather then an empty trailer. Most of the outfits advertising in HMN used enclosed trailers rather than the standard open type used to haul new cars. They take very good care of your car, should be well insured as they often haul vehicles worth 6 figures (or more)!!

Depending on the distance, it might be better to fly to where the car is as simply drive it home. . .

That's what the purchaser of my Jeep did when I sold it on ebay.
