Last Friday some a**hole broke into my car. it wasn't our X, but our Diamante. Rear door glass was smashed and plastic bag with $17 worth of Target stuff was stolen. Nothing was taken from glove box or trunk. The car was parked on parking structure with an attendant in a GOOD AREA. The alarm didn't go off since the door nor trunk nor hood was open. This is a manufacture anti-theft system and it doesn't have shock sensor.
I beg you all not to leave anything on a seat - not a bag, not a gloves, nothing that could be of anybody's interest (even if you think it's not worth much). I'm sure glad I bought cargo cover for our X to keep things out of somebody's view.
P.S. The window replacement cost me $250. |

| Of course my insurance covers windows. The problem is that I have $250 deductible and was able to get a new glass for $247.10. |

Look at it this way the $2.90 you saved will buy you a burger:1: You might as well laugh; ulcers are not good for you. |

OK if you wanna laugh...
Eventhough the whole experience was very upsetting, later in the evening I checked with my wife what actually was in that bag that was stolen. It turned out that my wife bought some feminine/maternity products for her friend and I supposed to drop them after work at her house. Imagine the face of the thief when after all the trouble he opened the bag... |

People, please try to instill the following into your heads as well as the heads of those around you:
If my bright red Ferrari is parked right next to your 1989 rusty Buick, but the Ferrari has NO bags, purses, phones, CD cases, etc. inside, but the Buick does....guess which one the thief will be attracted to RIGHT away? Hint: It ain't the Ferrari.
Simply leave anything remotely valuable in clear sight (or semi-clear) in your car and it *WILL* be broken into sooner than later in most parts of this country, PERIOD. Leave it empty of such things, and chances are VERY low it will be broken into unless the intent is to steal the whole car. There are FAR FAR less professional thieves that are able to handle most new cars' security systems than those petty thieves that vicitimize most of you and others in yuor neighborhood.
I have YET to encounter a situation where I can find myself or someone I know that got their car broken into w/o having anything "added" to the interior like a purse or shopping bag that is easy to know is in the car. |

.......even though, it's a real bummer (I would've been EXTREMELY upset) for something like this to happen, You're the one who had the LAST LAUGH!! :D ........That SOB a$$hole got what he richly deserved for all his trouble!
All of these Vandals should be severly beaten up :3: . A few years back I had just bought a brand new Toyota Corolla (at that time it was a big deal for me) and the first week I owned it someone keyed the entire right side at around 7pm in a BUSY "Mini mall" parking lot!!!! ......Luckily FOR THEM I didn't find the person responsible, or they would be parking in HANDICAPPED ZONES by now!! :twak: :whip: |

ndahbar,
I bet most people already know this... I'd file it under common sense... If anyone leaves something visible in the car, it has to be an anomaly... I refuse to believe that a person would not know this... |

.....that there are far less "professional thieves" that can get away with stealing modern highly "armed" cars, than petty thieves, don't forget that there are still A ton of losers everywhere that will vandalize your car out of jealousy (especially if it's an expensive one) .......because these lazy low-life losers :28: cannot achieve anything in life, themselves, and can't bear to see others success! ......and don't forget the ton of other psychos (environmentalist SUV haters etc.) who will vandalize your SUV because they are unemployed and have nothing better to do!
Like I said earlier the only solution to deal with this scum :twak: :whip: |
|
|
| ndahbar |
| Vic, *BELIEVE* me, put ME in charge, and the scum will be dealt with swiftly. *SIGH* well at least tell the idiots in charge, to give all police a lot more freedom to do what they want with those caught RED-HANDED with such crimes. Trust me from setting an example, they will learn. Desperate or not. Oh shoot! Did I just open a can 'o worms? Nevermind. ;) |
