But the current gen Range Rover is more a product of the BMW years.
Maybe they were refering to specific mechanical parts.
I would expect Ford to move to a Ford engine and transmission ASAP. The rest takes a lot more time to change.
Remember the Range Rover was all new last year. |

The model shown is the Range Rover introduced last year.
I have not checked, but doubt it has much Ford in it (yet).
It most certainly is NOT a Xxplorer or Expedition derivative!
Give Ford some time. It took them several years to release a Ford with a Jag badge! :2: |

DUBYA123,
I read the same story from Automobile Mag. You read the article incorrectly. The current Range Rover is basically a BMW product. Everything that's in the current Range Rover was developed by BMW. It even has the BMW V8 engine in it.
Automobile magazine had a commentary saying that with Ford now running Rover, the Range Rover will never be built like this again. The article also mentioned the possiblity of the next generation being based on the Expedition as a cost cutter. |

How do you think the Jag, Aston MArtin, and Volvo people feel?
Of course there is the GM Saab, and GM Hummer to consider. |

I really dont think they know, usually you kind of overlook who owns what, rollin in a range rover still makes you feel proud, Its just kind of disappointing, Its like BMW being owned by Ford,
Speaking of the H2 (i knew GM made them from the start) The H2 is the official Wanksta vehicle, it looks awesome with the Chrome, It seriously being advertised by the most rappers and basketball players, the escalade is out, H2 in. Nice vehicle, I just think the MDX offers more |
