| I found the problem of the trip counter integrated w/ the Navi system. The mileage was wrong (28 mpg) after driving more than 100 mi (before it read 15.5 mpg which is correct) from the reset point after fill up. Anyone has the same problem or be able to explain the bug? I'm just doubting that sometime I turn off the Navi then the problem can happen. |

I have a problem with mine occasionally resetting even though the tank has not been filled up (I have it set to auto reset with a fill up). I suspect it is because I park on an incline and that sometimes confuses the fuel level sensor but I have yet to confirm that theory.

Shouldn't this thread be in the Problem section?
I had the same problem before. For evidence, see

I think the computer includes the the miles in the previous trip, while resetting the amount gas consumed, causing the average MPG to shoot up. This is likely to be a bug in the software in the navigation system. Being a software programmer myself, I find it amusing - I am not the only one that writes buggy code! :D
This is really harmless; we just can't trust the MPG on the trip computer! |

| Yeah, I agree w/ Kinmanc about the bug of the system. In addition, not only the mileage wrong, but the trip is wrong also. The number of miles read in the odometer is 115 mi, but the trip shows 321 mi (they were all reset after fill up) |
