I already have a drop down system for the passengers in back and was wondering if anyone has a good idea for the front passengers. I don't care much for the rear view mirror screens or the visor screens. I want something the driver and passenger can see at the same time (When not driving of course). Something that can be attached and removed for safety reasons.

Thank You.:2:

Have you considered one of the many Portable DVD players with Screens? Panasonic ,Pioneer, and Sharp are but a few of the many out there. the newer ones come with A/V inputs and outputs, and screen quality is apparently quite good. Just a thought .

I am in the process of installing an Alpine aftermarket head unit which has a fold out screen. should be quite visible by both passenger and driver (when parked of course).

Anyway, jsut a couple of options to think of.

Just note that if you get the in dash monitor, you cannot watch it while driving. . .

But the guy at Circuit City told me the screen would not be accessible while the car is in motion. . . was that BS?

It may have a security feature within it which is hooked up through some wire and it can tell when the car is on or off, but more than likely there is something you can do to overcome that. Why would you want Alpine? Go with Pioneer. The best in Video and some audio.... :D If you guys want. I can get a group buy on the Pioneer screens or xcel screens or any car entertainment stuff. I get manufacturer's price... my brother sells all that stuff... let me know!!

Hold on....Do not be saying Pioneer is the best just yet, hehe. I will have to cast my vote for Eclipse. I have the indash 7002 and the picture quality is outstanding. Not to mention 5 volt preouts. The newer models now have 8 volt.

On my Eclipse, there is an easy way around the video safety feature. I do not want to say what it is, just in case but, it can be done. Besides, why should the front seat passenger be penalized because the driver is not suppose to watch. My Eclipse will pivot toward the passenger so, that the driver really can not see it anyway. I am not sure how easy the Alpines is to bypass. I know they sell a bypass on ebay all the time.

I have had Alpine in dash screen in the past and the picture is very good also. Audio is also excellent (just MHO)

The Alpine has circuitry which is basically a sequence of grounding and 12 volt wires. One lead attached to Parking brake switch, the other to the foot brake lead, and when the two are done in the correct sequence (on-off-off-on) the picture then shows. Obviously, you have to end up with the parking brake on, thus the vehicle is not in motion.

Bypasses consist of two toggle switches which simulate the brake leads, the other is the "black box" which is an electronic version of sequenceing the switching of the brakes. Have done the manual switch thing and works fine, have not yet tried the black box but it apparently works well too.

I would strongly suggest that drivers keep their eyes on the road, leaving the passenger enjoy the view....if you want to watch the movie, go sit in the back and get a different driver. I mean, come on, can you imagine watching Entrapment while on a busy highway, while Catherine Zeta-Jones is maneuvering those laser lights....??? Could be dangerous for you, and your X...

I am working a product that will do just what your looking for using your Navigation LCD without cutting wires or voiding your warranty. See my thread http://acuramdx.org/forums/showthre...&threadid=10526

And as for the comment that you can't watch it while driving. I think is more of a statement, like you can't go over 55. But who listens?
