If you have a navi are you happy with it?
1. Is it slow?
2. Does it lag behind your actual position?
3. Does it calculate route quickly?
4. If you miss your turn does it recalculate route quickly? |

| Answers to your post----- No--YES---YES----YES. I have not ventured to far from the Chicago metro area to find out how well it works out in the boonies (as far as detail) |

My biggest complaint is that it lags behind... About a city block behind in many cases.
The other thing that bugs me is the route calculation. Even if the streets are on the map, like in my town, it only gets you close, and then says "Entering unverified ares, use caution.", like your entering the hood or something... I am suprised that it does not lock the doors! Anyway... If the streets are on the map, then just plot the stupid course! If it's wrong, it's wrong, but at least try! The routes it does calculate are generally wrong anyway...
It does calculate the route a lot faster than the system in my former Mercedes. All in all, it's an improvement, but still needs a lot of work. It's mostly the routing logic that is hosed.

your system should NOT be lagging behind by a block. Have you tried to recalibrate the positioning of your X? Early on, I had a similar problem (to a much smaller degree) and was able to correct it through the calibration process. It takes all of 20 seconds through the menu system.
Also, I haven't had your problems on routing regarding getting me close and then saying "good luck finding the place". I guess this is the obvious advantage of living in an area that is more fully mapped. When I've driven through Iowa I've experienced some of your problems but nothing locally in the Twin Cities.

I have had my 03 Nav about a week and have had no problems with the unit. It's actually better than I expected!! It takes me right to the address or location without any lag.
The only issue I have is when the female voice keeps saying make a u-turn repeatedly and I think my wife is in the front seat:) |

1. Well, it's all relative -- I think it's fast enough, but don't expect the voice recognition to be as fast as the computer on Star Trek.
2. I have had no real lag time.
3. Yes, my routes are calculated within 5-10 seconds.
4. Yes, as soon as you miss a turn, a new route is recalculated! |
