Has anyone ever tried this?? Davis CarChip
http://www.davisnet.com/drive/products/carchip.asp
It seems pretty cool. From what I understand it plugs into the diagnostics port monitors while you drive then you remove it and plug it into the PC and you can see all the info. I sent an email and they replied with what it monitors.
* RPM
* Throttle position
* Engine load
* Coolant temperature
* Intake manifold pressure
* Air flow rate
* Intake air temperature
* Timing advance
* Fuel pressure
* Fuel system status
* Short- and long-term fuel trim
* Oxygen sensor output voltage
* Battery voltage

The 10 that are missing are:
there are 8 oxygen sensors
there are 2 each for short and long term fuel trim.

I've seen this discussed in earlier threads. I believe that someone has tried it. Maybve do a search to see.

Hi Rodzir:

___You may want to look at this OBD-II Automotive Scan Tool and Virtual Dashboard instead. Real time acquisition and analysis at up to 35 Hz, diagnostics, trouble code reader, the ability to clear trouble codes, a ton of additional features that far surpass what the Car Chip tool is looking at and all the analysis can be done in real time or recorded on your laptop. The main feature … It is less than $100.00 if you have a student in the house ;)

___For a review of the above scan tool product, consider reading the article posted here.

___Good Luck and enjoy the reads.
