Finally, here are some pics of the amp installation in the rear headrest area. The amp is installed using velcro to allow me access to the headrests when I need them. I'm not including pictures of the speakers, since they are all in the factory locations. I was suppose to get pics of the enclosure while it was in progress of being installed, but it didn't happen. Since these pics were taken, I've also had my MP3 player installed as well. I'll post those pics soon.

aikimdx.....that is just sweet. i assume that the Crossfire is a 5 channel amp? i love the velcro for easy removal. did they build you a custom enclosure in the stock sub location? i recently had an enclosure built in mine for an Image Dynamics sub. i need to get the pics from the person who did that for me. again, looks real good. the loom is a nice neat touch as well.

Yes, the Crossfire is a 5 channel amp. The sub is a dual voice coil, so the sub is getting 300 watts while the components are getting 50x4 into 4ohm. They built what they call a "black hole" enclosure for the sub. They worked pretty hard from the sound of things to get as much "air" behind the sub as possible. I had asked them to take pics of the enclosure, but it didn't get done. I need to get out and take the final pics with the MP3 player installed (also on velcro) in the rear storage area.

Does your cooling fan run continuously, or only when the amp powers up? did you wire in some kind of relay for it? If it is run off the same line as the amps, do you get any whine or other noise throught the system? I really like the idea of a small fan, and will incorporate one into my system based on your idea....

I wanted to avoid the fans entirely (probably wishful thinking on my part), but after they installed the amp, the installer decided that they had to be done. I presume they run full time, but I've never been able to hear them. I guess I'll have to turn everything on then go check! I have not heard a single hint of noise coming through the audio system that shouldn't be there. I chalk it up to having an excellent shop with top notch installation.

As for how they were wired, I really don't know, that part of the installation was "do it if you feel you have to" so we didn't plan out that part in advance.

I have no idea. I believe they build their own cables to length as needed. If you want, PM me and I will give you their phone number.

Did you add those speakers in that enclosure? I assume that's what the two Black Magic black squares are by the amp?
