Last week, I had my installer try to add an alpine mbus changer to my Nav/RES. I was hoping to use the MBUS functionality to enable control of my Dension MP3 player directly from the factory head unit. It was a complete failure. So, if you are hoping to upgrade to the S634 Alpine and you have Nav/RES, you might want to think twice before buying it off of ebay. If anyone has made this work, I would be interested in hearing from them presuming it was done on a Nav/RES.
Has anyone else attempted this? |

You replaced the stock changer and the Alpine unit would not work? Did you get the mbus connector installed (Alpine to the X 14 pin plug)?

Yup on all counts. It seemed to recognize the changer but I don't recall it getting any further than that. The testing was done by my installer. |
