Hello;
Thanks to this board, I am now an educated consumer. This morning, I went to 2 car audio shops just to look for speakers to upgrade. Both of them tried to sell me a new headunit plus "rewiring" labor since everythinghas to be redone, etc...which I know is BS.
Anyway, based on your discussions here, I was set on the Infinity for both front and back but after comapring the coax vs. components, I think I will go with BA Component (PR something) in the front and BA FX 6 in the back. But I do not want to add a new amp.
I recalled someone mentioned that a new amp is needed is you go with a BA components. I am not a real audio enthusiast, just want a little better sound on long trips.
Does anyone have experience with installing BA components without an amp? where should the cross-overs be mounted? someone mentioned that leaving them behind the doors is not good because that area is wet after a rain.
Or should I simplify my life and add 2 pairs of BA FX6 for both front and rear? DO the components make that much of a difference??
Please advise. Thanks. |

| Are FX6's still available? i have a pair in my front doors (The Infinity 625i in the rear). They are about as good as any coax can get in my estimation. |
