Hello.
What is being used to scan engine codes? Is it a ODB-II scan tool? What recommendations do the guru's have here? |

I use the Auto Xray OBD-II Scanner and it has worked great on all the vehicles I have tried it on. Here is a link to the manufactuers page http://www.autoxray.com/products.aspx . Plenty of places on the net to buy it.

It is a chip that you plug into the port and when finished you use your PC to see all recorded info and its Cheap

| Here's another option - AutoZone stores will do the scans for you at no charge, then run the scanner into their computer for more information on the code. They did it for me this morning in about 3 minutes - no waiting and no charge. I called the dealer with the code info and went from there. |

What do you want to do ? Just check if there is a DTC (trouble code) or also monitor all sensors ? The Eqqus and Autozone options will only show you dtc, if any.
But for monitoring sensor data you need something like this -
I narrowed it down to these two and finally I think I will be getting the digimoto before the year ends!

Do a google search, there are a few more but at the price point of the above nothing else can beat them. |
