MDX's of New Orleans - Click HERE for Original Thread

Well, my original intent was to photograph all the MDX’s I was in New Orleans and post them here, but that didn’t work out. For one thing, my old Kodak DC260, which is 70 in digital camera years, just doesn’t boot up fast enough to catch them. Second, I only saw 4 – one Taffeta White cruising in the French Quarter on Mardi Gras, a Red Rock and two Silvers. Tons of Jags, lots of Land Rovers (preferred car of the Garden District), and the requisite Lexi, but not many X’s. Any members from down there? What’s the story?

So in lieu of that, here are a few other pictures from that trip, mostly PG, since this is a public site, after all…

Here’s a scene from Mardi Gras. In this case the camera was in focus, the people actually were blurry.

OK, given what’s about to happen next, how important can this phone call be?
ghost
New Orleans is so not like Duluth…

A pretty common scene – funny that no one ever bends down to pick UP beads…

Finally, where do all the beads come from? The bead trees, of course!

I was there a few years back, beautiful riverfront boardwalk, great food, only place I know where you can walk down the street with a drink in your hand without being questioned, and it wasn't even Mardi Gras.

Ok, this was back in 1993, not a few years ago.

nice architecture too.

Ahh...Brings back some memories. I was there the past couple of years but missed this year. I attend a conference every year the week before Fat Tuesday. I'm really ready to go home by the end of it.:2:

We lived in New Orleans for 6 years; all three boys were born there.

Harmonr1 - yea, I can't believe people schedule conferences around Mardi Gras - how do they expect people to show up at the meetings? :)

Extraordinary architecture - here's a couple from the Garden District:

You have to show up at the meetings to get instructions to the party that night. And your wristband to get in.

Time to bump this one up - any of you X'ers down in the Big Easy this week? Show us what you got!

I remember last year, it would take a half hour to go a block down Bourbon Street. Thousands of people, most of them attempting to talk on cell phones.

Oh. That explains a lot!

That's the problem, we don't have rampant debauchery here. Maybe occassional debauchery. Hardly even that. Mostly just bauchery, once in a while...
