Last Sunday we had some mild weather so I got the hose out and gave the X a good after winter bath. After the wash I noticed the driver's side black Manik's paint was crackled (spider web appearance) from one end to the other. I was pretty supprised- they were just shy of a year old. :mad:
I called Manik on Monday and they said to bring it by the shop I bought them from and they would take care of it. So Wednesday morning I went to the shop. The sales guy took one look and said no problem and he would have a new set for me on Thursday. Didn't even ask to see my receipt. He said it wasn't a very common problem but every once in a while a pair comes back. Before I left I inspected both sides carefully and noticed that the paint from the brackets that are welded to the tubes also had failed and the brackets were rusting.
Today I picked up the new Maniks. Hopefully these will hold up better. At least they have a five year warranty- the first three years full and the last two pro-rated. It's nice to know that Manik stands behind their products and came through without any hastle. :) |

| I guess the reason they didn't ask for the receipt b/c the X just came out no more than 3 years and Manik's warranty is full in first 3 years. Hopefully your new set will last a lot longer than the previous one. |
