I'm totally clueless as to where I should go to get my pin-stripping done. I also want to get the windows and the sunroof tinted and I am thinking about the color-keyed side molding. I don't want to do any of this myself..I'd rather pay someone else to do it right, but I don't know where to start and hubby isn't much of a help (he's a computer guy not a car guy). Any help you all can give me would be very much appreciated! Would the dealer do the pin-stripping for me? I don't want to call and tell them to add it without me seeing the color of the stripe first and showing them where I want it. I want the Acura emblem on the stripe too. Thanks again.

We are having the dealer send out the car for window tinting. That way the dealer will warranty the work. They charge for $40 to do the front windows. I never thought to ask about the moonroof - great idea. It is going to be done tomorrow so I will call them first thing in the morning. Thanks. I asked them about pin-stripping. They send it out also, but do not warranty that. I got the name of the detail shop and will call them later.

VaBchMDX - I picked mine up last night. The moonroof is already tinted. The two front windows cost us $45 to tint. This work will be warranted by our dealer.

ANY window tint on the front windows in New Jersey is illegal but I am going to do it anyway. I haven't gotton prices yet but I hope it is not more than $40.
I'll keep you posted.
I want to get my PIAA foglights first.
One thing at a time............

My dealer (Ferman Acura Tampa Florida) added rear mud flaps,
Pin stripping, tinted front side windows, and wheel locks at no addtional charge. I also got my MDX at MSRP without any forced accessories or optional paint or leather protection packages.

Now that our '99 Expy is for sale, we will start looking at the 2002 TL and /or TL-S.

I had the privilege of having a brand new 2002 3.5 TL w/ nav. as a loaner, from the dealer, when our MDX was in for service a couple weeks ago, it is probably one of the sweetest cars to drive. To bad the MDX wasn't available with the AutoShift like the TL.
You'd have the best of both worlds with an MDX and a TL, especially if it was the type S!! |
