Did anyone make, buy, install, etc. projector headlamps on their mdx? If so, can you provide some more info?
DUBYA123
There are companies that do it for you, I wanted to do it, www.illusion-lighting.com does it, I have a point of contact in VA beach, what you would have to do, is buy extra headlamps and extra bi-xenon projector(from ebay much cheaper) and send them the companies, takes about 2 weeks,

2 HEADLAMPS $200
2 bI xENON pRON: 300+
hID kIT +400
Intallation 350-400

overall not worth it, but hey if you want to be different

Maybe next year - I already have the hid kit and I love it but I guess I'm just concerned about the glare. I had to adjust my down again this weekend a half turn b/c I was flashed two times.

I found out that suvlights.com will be developing a projector housing for the mdx... as I find out more I will keep everyone updates. Here is an email I received.

Yes, we will soon have the OEM Valeo HID projectors (both single/low beam and dual/ low & high Bi Xenon) as used on the Cadaliac CTX and new Dodge Viper.

prelim cost is $600 for dual/ Bi xenon, and $500 for single.

Yah, the only thing the mdx needs is those, If SUVlights are doing an aftermarket headlight for the MDX, I dont think were going to need a facelift, an a while, especially with Bixenon,

More info...

Will they meet DOT Specs?
yes possibility ECE as well

Do you have a time frame for availability?
ck back on our site (suvlights.com), 1-3 weeks
BLACK-BLING-MDX
so that price includes the hid lights and stuff?
jswift2000
I dont know but I dont think so but I will ask.

I would think just the headlamps, because the hids alone cost 400-500
jswift2000
Thats my thinking. $500 for two headlamps and i'm in. Illusion-lighting.com will go custom headlamps with hids for $800 so I would think the $500 only covers two housings. I may wait until the 2004 model comes out to see if they have HIDS.
DUBYA123
:) Im not willing to wait for 2004, The thing with Acura (if there reading) is that they come up with things to late, Projectors Bulbs, V8, I mean they put HIDs in the CL and TL, and not on the MDX, RSX that was a dissappointment, now the RX330 gets projectors,
Acura should of saw that coming, but oh well

I know of a company that does projector lamp conversions. The big secret is that the conversion consists of a set of PIAA lamps fitted to the headlights with some smart knife and caulk work.

manus tell us the company, Please
jswift2000
illusion-lighting.com will do this for about $800, inlcuding the phillips hid kits. I also know that hid4less.com will do a headlamp conversion, but everyone on this site knows their reputation. There is a lof of info on www.hidforum.com.
jswift2000
I received an email from illusion-lighting yesteday and they do a reto of the headlight housing, which you have to provide, that includes a hella 90MM projector or an Audi/BMW Projector.
DUBYA123
your not going to wait for suvlights for their headlamps,

Not sure. If I go with illusion-lighting.com I know they're going to use true Acura OEM Headlights (b/c I need to send them) and good projectors. I will need to sell my hid kit though, b/c they include one with the price. No big deal. I need to wach the cash flow so I have some hard core thinking to do.
DUBYA123
I dont know if its true or not, but everytime I ask about the project, everybody always tells me do I have an air intake, they say theres not enough room for the projectors on the drivers side with the OEM intake, so they advise me to get an air intake

If your planning on doing the conversion, check this out here.

The PIAA 1000 series is without a doubt the best projectors available. PIAA makes xenon projectors for under $300 and HID projectors upwards of $1,500. PIAA has a projector for everyone and they are sold all over the net.
