Looking for a good driving game for the PS2. Tried Need For Speed-Hot Pursuit 2, but didn't care for the way the controls steered the car, didn't seem very realistic.
Anyone have any recommendations? Kind of looking for something my 5 & 1/2 year old son would also be able to play. He's able to master (sort of) the old Nintendo 64 driving games, but some of the PS2 stuff might be over his head. |

GT3 is excellent and I recommend it, as well.
However, I think you're son (and you!) would enjoy Burnout 2: Point of Impact ALOT more. It's a better two player game, great graphics, and the sense of speed is amazing.

I didn't want to mention GTA3 because of the 5 1/2 year old,
but if you are going that route, go for GTA: Vice City, it's the latest. |

Sorry, I was referring to Grand Theft Auto
not Gran Turismo |

I'll second that for Burnout 2! It's definitely a guy's game. I could play the crash game for hours. As I pick up speed careening into the intersection to achieve the highest accident damage costs, my heart jumps just as impact occurs. It's a strangely satisfying experience. Probably the closest feeling to being involved in an accident in any game I've played. Much more than the NFS or GT games. Be sure to use the dashboard view for best speed effects and use that turbo! |
