MY black 03 X got some kind of over spray resin while parked at the clear bra installer's place. I diidn't see it, or feel it, until a couple of days after the fact.

I tried waxes, and scratch removers with no luck. It was even on the windows and windshield. Nothing would remove it, not even Windex!

So, I decided to give the Zaino clay bar a try!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Miracles do happen! IT CAME RIGHT OFF! The paint is baby BUTT smooth again.

I definitelly reccomend the complete Zaino treatment package. The paint looks awesome now.:2:

Great! I ordered my Zaino supplies and am waiting for delivery, but my other car got some overspray on it from a repair. Really not noticable unless you look at it at a certain angle. Sounds like the clay bar will work.:4:

Do some research on "other clay bars" since some got really bad reviews in eopinions.com.

Stick with Zaino to make sure you get what you paid for and great results.:1:

I did a search on Autopia.org and I found some great clay bars. Since the weather is going to suck this weekend (rainy and cold) the waxing will have to wait.

if you arent going to use the zaino bar - two good alternatives are Mothers and Clay Magic . . easy to find in a pinch too . ..

"Clay" bars are synthetic. Using modeling clay is not advised. Also, apparently there are only a few manufacturers of claybars and are resold under various brand names. I have used both Zaino and Griots. Used up the Griots. Put the Zaino in the Griots "tub" and lubed it with Z6 to keep it from drying out.

I only saw two rated at "epinions" ; Zaino and Mothers, and both got great reviews.

By the way I used the Zaino on my clear bra, and it looks better than before. It looks brilliant.:1:

Washed my X yesterday. I think I, myself, have managed to keep the bug population in Metro Atlanta down by the looks of the front of my suv. I will Zaino next weekend. Those little buggers were on there good!!! PEOPLE.....CLAYBAR IS AWESOME!!! I could not imagine what I would have done without it yesterday. Just soften up the claybar stick with some soapy water from the car wash, make sure the area is "lubricated" as well, and tar and bugs come off with ease. Great product.

I hate to pile on, but I also must rave about clay bar. I thought it was fantastic when my X was new and it smoothed it even more, but now, a year old, it worked it's magic even better. I clayed it yesterday, some stuff i never thought could come off did, and the X is now once more as smooth as a baby's behind!:2: Next on to more zaino!!!!!!!!!

The clay bar is great. I used it after owning my X for about two weeks I was thinking how much smoother could the paint get, but the clay bar made it even smoother. A co-worker of mine liked the Zaino so much he ordered $115.00 worth. I guess by braging about it, in our own way we all (Zaino users) have helped Sal with sales.

My first Zaino order is due to arrive on my door step today! I'm extremely excited to get home and get to work on my NBP X. It's a nice warm sunny day here in Ohio so it should be a perfect setting to start my first application. I just have to hit the store for some Dawn before I get started!

By the way, I had never even heard of Zaino until I started participating in this forum so I would agree that Sal is probably pretty happy with everyone here. His service is top notch. The online ordering was flawless too. Very quick service!! :29:

But apparently not happy enough to give even a small discount for a group buy.

That is the bottom line isn't it. I'm still irritated by my experience with a previous group buy. Just as I was about to send payment, I was told the deal was dead. Apparently, Sal did not like the distributer's price, and stopped it.

Now, now, mdxxxxxx, Sal is just being, well, Sal. Remember the group buy that the Wormster was trying to put on in late 2001.....and it went on and on and on and on and on and on....he couldn't do anything until after the first of the year....then it was delayed because of some secret project he was working on (ZFX, it turns out).....how the heck this makes any difference to the price of Zaino, I'll never know.....finally after several months of the Worm pulling his hair out, Sal came thru.

I still have my free cotton applicator as a momento.:D

souvenier applicator ? that is very very funny ! -insert proper smilie here -

Sal has always been cautious and considered when it comes to group buys . ..

any yes, he does appreciate the word of mouth business (we all do) - its how the product grows . .

but he is a hands on guy, and that means product and projects always take precedent over a small discount.

just the way it is - adds a little "character" to the line, doesnt it ?

;)

I don't think so----- something about the hand that feeds you? I suspect this board generates substantial business for the company and the distributor, and that occasional discounts such as that offered by HondaAcuraWorld in appreciation are appropriate.

Having chided Sal, I will say that besides having the best product in the marketplace, he does ship quickly and even tho he doesn't take credit cards, he ships promptly, without error and without waiting for the check to clear. Heck, I was at Home Depot yesterday and they asked me for a photo ID along with my credit card for a $17.00 purchase. I wish Nardelli was back at GE.
Jay0427
Actually they do take credit cards now over the internet on www.zainostore.com. I believe the site is in beta right now but I used it to place and order last Thurs and already have my shipment!

Always the contrarian, I think of it this way. If Sal gave someone a big discount, wouldn't that mean he was screwing us all along in the past?

I think he has a product that's limited in supply, and that his demand sometimes outstrips his supply. Perhaps he mixes up a batch at a time in his kitchen sink. That leaves little room to dicker on price. Kind of like the MDX. :)

I talked with him on the phone and he seemed to be a very nice guy. I expressed some confusion as to why it can't be ordered on via the web (a few short months ago) and how he could stay in biz without accepting credit cards. He didn't seem to care about that too much. He has a great product and demand is good.

That's a credit to his *product,* not to slick sales and discounts.

That said, I am glad he finally joined the rest of us in the new millennium with this Internet thing and those newfangled credit card thingys. Hey, you know someday this stuff might catch on!
