Here are pics of my SBP and my brothers Black x. We got a great deal in NC. One dealership, one salesman, great service. My sister also has a '02 SS Touring. It's funny because we each owned Explorers prior to the MDX and hated them equally. Anyway, just two months old and as hard as I tried to keep away from the *!@# door dingers, it happened. (No such thing as minor) I was thinking of using a paint-less dent removal company called Dent Wizard. Has anyone used them before? Let me know what you think about them.

side view before door ding...maybe I'll just cover it with the body side molding. I knew I should have bought it but I wanted to keep the sides looking clean.

1SageMDX,

Nice looking MDX pics. Door dings are an unfortunate fact of life. It's a cruel world out there for our treasured MDX's. Get the BSM's, repair the door dings as they occur, and try to find isolated parking spaces. Good luck.:29:

Many of us on this forum have used paintless dent repair services, myself included. I paid $100 to fix a door 'dent' (you're right, there's no such thing as a minor ding!) and you'd never know it had been dented. I had under 1,000 miles on it and I knew I'd obsess over the dent if I didn't get it fixed. Some people seem to be able to live with the dents, I can't! You could check your local yellow pages to see if there are any competitors to Dent Wizard and call around for a little price shopping. Of course, it's like anything else, you should be careful in your selection. Good luck.

BTW If you'd put your 'location' in your profile, then people would know where you're from and could recommend a local shop if someone here has some local knowledge.

I’ve used the Dent Wizard a few times over the years and they can be a Godsend. As long as the paint is not scratched to the metal, most of the time the repair cannot be detected. They usually do great work and seem to work miracles.

I’m very anal about my cars and refuse to accept that dings are a fact of life, so I’m quite couscous about where I park. It drives my wife nuts. Plus it looks horrible driving a beautiful $40,000 vehicle with door dings.

1SageMDX,

congrats on your new MDX. it looks great!

dent repair kits can repair some dings. i have a kit and for about
$25-30 it is worth trying.

paintless dent removal (pdr)can repair most dings.

right now i have a small (sized like a marble caused it) door ding.
the dent kit did not have a small enough puller to fix it. so i will have it repaired by pdr.

good luck,

chris

Sorry to hear about your ding.

That SBP looks great with the chrome steps.:29:

There's a discussion going on about this elsewhere on this site but to save you the trouble of searching, everyone (including me) seems extremely happy with Dent Wizard. Sorry 'bout your ding, but it should all work out just fine.

Nice pictures, anyway, I tried the paintless dent removal on the other car- took it back to the dealer. They removal the dent and you can't tell there was a dent there before. I could say go for it, unless you are a body repairman, better let the pro do it. Cost about $100 where I live.

Thanks for your replies! I live close to a Dent Wizard and its been there for years. Now I know why. By the way, I am very picky about parking spots but living in New Jersey being picky is choosing between a tight spot next to a four door or a two door anywhere you go. Thanks again and drive safely out there!
