I have a Brand new Silver MDX. Which Zaino products should I get? What order do I need to put them on and from start to finish, how long does it take to do the entire Zaino process?

Welcome to the forum dlockh4258 and congratulations on you new MDX.

Do a search on Zaino, many threads will be found with this info, including a few recent ones.

Don't forget to check out Griot's Garage for a great line of cleaning products. Less work, same results. Their claybar is very good.

Zaino:

I orderd Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7 and ZFX. I made the mistake of not ordering the claybar so I'll order one from griots garage.

Go to www.zainobros.com to find an order form and a complete set of instructions. I ordered the above products on everyone recomendation here.

Good luck.

For a brand new silver car, I would say Z1, Z2, Z6, & the claybar to start off. Don't know if you'll need the Z5 for a long time, most silver cars don't show swirl marks as bad as, say, a black car. If you use good 100% cotton or micro-fiber towels, you should be able to get by with very few swirl marks.

Homer2,

It takes a lot of time - mostly waiting from what Ive read. My Zaino is still sitting in a box b/c I havent had the chance to apply it b/c of the weather.

if you got the zfx - there is NO waiting -
unless you apply too much - but reg dry time in summer temps is tiny amount of minutes.
then after wiping it off, put the next one on right away

if you got Z1, then it might - might - take 20-30 minutes to dry both the z1 and z2/z5 layer (whichever you received). since you lay the polish over the z1, they dry together - then wipe and ure done,.

if you want - email me and ill send you a user guide i made up for new folks to zaino, it helps make it easier, and is full of tips . .

6 pages - word format - spam free, so you have to ask for it :)

Homer speaketh the truth. With ZFX, the drying time can be measured in minutes. In my garage, the wait time has gotten as low as 10 minutes. Apply too much and you might wait longer.

Also, keep in mind that you do NOT have to apply multiple coats. It is just that Zaino fanatics choose to do so. I have had numerous people take one look at my X and can't believe it is a 2001. Heh...heh...heh...as long as Acura doesn't change the styling too much, I can continue to lie and say it is brand new....;)
