I have a brand new 2003 Silver MDX. I want to get a pressure washer for cleaning the MDX and also for some odd jobs around the house. My question to you guys out there is the psi recomendations. What psi is too much for a new auto? I was wanting to get an Excel 2500 psi, 2.5 gal per min which has 0-40 degree nossel selections. Would this be too powerful? Please give your insight?

dlockh4258,

If you find yourself blasting the paint off your MDX, I think it would be safe to say the psi on your pressure washer is set to high.:bonk:

Don't get the one with the twist nozzle that adjust the pressure. I have one (Craftsman 2400psi 2.5 gpm 6.5 hp) that I use for the siding, pool deck, garage, etc and it has the tips that are interchangeable. I also use it on the Jeep (incredibly bad brake dust on the rims) and car as I have crappy water pressure (well).

My neighbor had the adjustable nozzle on his and "cleaned" the paint off the bumper of his wife car. Needless to say he replaced the nozzle that weekend.

2500 psi is way too much for washing your MDX. I have both a electric and gas Karcher pressure washer. I usually use about 500 psi to wash my cars. 2000psi for washing the bricks around the pool and removing paint. I like the pressure washer since I have my own deionized water tanks so that the water is mineral and ion free so there will be no spotting and the water usage is minimal. Used to own a black car, a real chore to maintain.
