I really want a country who specializes in the illegal copying of dvd's and cd's and has the fortune cookie formula down pat to make my vehicle. I wonder if that thing could pass any US emissions?

I hope you realize that FORTUNE COOKIES do not exist in China, and are only an American fad (well, Western).

Got a chuckle :2: when I read the "ruining the sarcasm". These forums definitely offer some good entertainment.

Interesting pix! Thanks for sharing.

The corporation (a fortune 500) I work for is now pushing procurement of parts through China more and more. The thinking is that the parts are reliable and competitive but with lower prices even when shipping is included. Jury is still out on this. The only problem I see is the long lead time - not good for emergencies.

The growth China is in now reminds me of the days when Japan started emerging after the war. On another note, I am not sure I want to receive anything from that region right now - SARS!

"Made in Japan." When I was young that meant CHEAP. Now it's quality. Go figure.

Have you been to China? It's a cesspool. The pollution is unbelievable. It's actually foggy.

Kia has a luxury line coming to America soon. It looks good, I saw a pic on the CL forum.

Maybe the next growing economy to come out with their own car line for the US will be India. They have lots of good engineers despite the poverty.

Both look to have the infiniti grill. The black one looks like a 1993 model and the tan one looks like a hyundai. Both have really cheap rims. I don't think America in general would buy a chinese vehicle.

suv4x4 - Thanks for sharing those links. :D

OP MDX: I believe that was what many people stated about the Japanese auto when they first got started. If there is a market for affordable vehicles and they are reliable (at least somewhat initially), then the economies will show whether the vehicles are accepted. Then again you could be right.
