Hello All...
I just got my Silver MDX Touring w. Navi.
Love it love it love it!!!
However I do notice noise from the real when going over small bumps, making turns etc... The noise was relevant both without the rear headrests stowed and with them stowed... I dont know if this is the way it should be for a while or if it is a problem after all.. The vehicle has less then 150 miles on it but I am worried...this set me back a few bucks :-).
Please advise here or via email at tarun@tarun.com
Thanks

Can't say I've noticed any rear-end noises.

I just spoke with my Acura service department regarding a rear thud. The guy told me that Acura (corporate) acknowledges (i) that the thud sound does indeed eminate from the gas tank and (ii) this noise is more prominent when the tank is full. The service guy said Acura told them that as of today, there is no fix for this problem, but that the thud sound does not pose any safety problems. Anyone else get this answer?

Hello All,
I have posted my concern about rear end noises before and have found the problem and the solution:
Seems that the rear sway bar is loose when shipped from the factory and needs to be tightened by the prep dept. of your dealer. Of course they forgot to tighten it on my MDX and thus lots of clinks and clunks in the rear. Took it in for 10 minutes and wallllllah...sounds and rides great..makes me feel much much better.
Check em out guys...dealers are not always too smart on this one.

Our noise is not related to a "thud" or chassis issue... thoroughly convinced that it's either transmission or rear end housing related. anyone else ??

I brought in my MDX for 3750 mi oil change yesterday and also told them about a right rear end noise that's been annoying me. Diagnosis: rear end strut problem. They will
replace once the parts come in. |

My Mesa Beige Touring Navi, 2600 miles, has a rear end "clunk" or "thud", when the car "recovers" from an abrupt stop, even at very low speeds. The intensity &/or pitch seem to vary with the amount of gas in the tank, and I am experimenting with this. I took it into a dealer in Florida...(not my selling dealer)... they put it up on lift, said all the paint marks on all rear end suspension parts indicated no slippage, and were fine... only way they could be off, I'd guess, would be if factory torque wrench were wrong. Will re-post when I've a better idea of what's up.
