What products do I use on the following to keep them looking new and to protect them from the elements? I am an old Armor-All user, but not sure if that is what I want to use my X. I prefer to buy my products locally and not mail order. Any suggestions? Thanks
Dash and Door panels
Running Boards
Exterior Black Door Pillars
Embossed Black Strip on Rear Bumper Below Hatch |

Dash and Door panels - Aerospace 303 protectant. I use this on pretty much the entire interior.
Running Boards - N/A in my case, yet
Exterior Black Door Pillars - Hmm, good question.
Embossed Black Strip on Rear Bumper Below Hatch - The 303 should work. I have not tried that yet.
303 Link
Aerospace 303 is available at REI as well as some boating shops. |

| I use Vinylex in and out. And Novus #1 and #2 for the plood and instruments clear plastic covers. #2 if they have fine scratches, #1 for a final polish. |

| I use 303 on the dash and door panels. Lexol on the leather. |

Ditto
303 on any plastic or vinyl. |

| Always having to be different, I use Meguiars #40 vinyl & rubber cleaner inside and out. On the dash, if you wipe it off after applying, the finish is matte; if you let it dry without wiping it off, it's somewhat shiny. I haven't tried anything on the running board treads, but the Meguiars does a great job on the "end pieces" as well as on the top cover of the rear bumper and the black trim in the grille area. |

All the stuff you guys use is superior. I would still recommend Novus #2 for fine scracthes, and #3 for deeper ones. It does an amazing job.
Today I used Novus to clean up an old poster and frame with clear acrylic cover that had gathered numerous scratches over the years, the results were phenomenal. I missed out on another good before and after foto op.
Hopefully, we will not have too many sratches on the plood or instrument windows, but if you do there is a good treatment available.
You can then clean up with 303, Meguairs, or Novus #1 for the final buffing and protection. |

I use Vinylex on the dash. It seems to be ok. Maybe too shiny. On sunny days, the dash is too shiny and is reflected on the windshield. It's quite annoyed. Do I apply too much?

What about the black trim on the exterior door pillars (B-pillar I think it is called). Ours is starting to discolor (sort of like fading but irregular -- not consistent over full surface).
Do others have same problem? Maybe ours is defective but my guess is that this is common.
Suggestions will be appreciated. |

I think A6MDX uses 303, I used Vinylex and it seems to give it a slightly mottled look at frist, but after it dries completely seems to go back to flat black. But I think you are right, it never looks quite like it did originally. |

| Yep, I use both that and One Grand ERV. If starting out new, 303 is good and it also cleans. ERV seems to be a better 'reconditioner' so if his trim is already fading I would go with ERV. |

I am going to try Novus for that side trim too. It's definitely a different texture than all the other plastic/vinyl. Will report on the results. |
