I know it's kinda last minute and I'm running outta time, but what would you married guys give your wife for Mother's Day ? My wife recently became a mom, and I want to give her something thoughtful and nice from the kids (10 month old twin boys) - TIA

PS at first I was going to put this thread in the 'Maintenance' forum, or "Health & Fitness", but caved and went with Gen'l discussion . . .

Having a 3yr old myself, I would suggest a nice weekend away from the twins! :2:

How much do you wanna spend?
Blueflame
When other people asked me this question, I always say nothing because my wife is not my mom. But every mother's day, there is a always a dozen roses and a nice dinner out.(Just the two of us)

Since Mom is always in the X hauling the kids around, we're going to install a cell phone kit for her.

Spoil her with a Day Spa Gift Certificate. You know, full body herbal wrap, pedicures, facials, etc, etc. You can find one in your area on the web, do a Yahoo or Google search. Check with the ladies at your work, they'll point you to a good one I'm sure. Good luck.

I tried convincing MrsWorm that the new dog kennel & bed were her mo-day gift, to no avail. So she's getting the spa and some face-prettying-machinery that her friend told me to get :D

Seriously, we have three boys (two in college and a freshman in HS) and Mother's Day is much more special to my wife when THEY do things for her on their on. My point is that your 10 month old twins do not have a clue what Sunday is - I am NOT suggesting that you ignore the day, simply keep it in perspective. Future Mother's Day should be a bigger deal because the kids will be older.

PS: Call YOUR mother;)

I ordered a Mother's Day teddy bear from the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. You can see it on their website www.vermontteddybear.com. Something different at least.

WHAT MOMS REALLY WANT FOR MOTHER'S DAY

* To be able to eat a whole candy bar (alone) and drink a soda without any "floaties" (ie, backwash).

* To have her 14 year-old daughter answer a question without rolling her eyes in that "Why is this person my mother?" way.

* Five pounds of chocolate that won't add twenty pounds to her figure.

* A shower without a child peeking through the curtain with a "Hi Ya Mom!" just as she puts a razor to her ankle.

* A full time cleaning person who looks like Brad Pitt.

* For her teenager to announce, "Hey, Mom! I got a full scholarship and a job all in the same day!"

* A grocery store that doesn't have candy/gum/cheap toys displayed at the checkout line.

* To have a family meal without a discussion about bodily secretions.

* To be able to step on a plane with their toddlers and NOT have someone moan, "Oh no! Why me?!?"

* To occasionally get to sleep late on the weekend. I mean is this too much to ask?

* To actually carry on a normal phone conversation with her toddler in the SAME room.

* To actually be able to finish a HOT cup of coffee while her kids are present. An impossible feat!

* To take a hot bath without her toddler suddenly screaming, "Mommy, I have to go potty!" as soon as she hits the water
