Three coats in one day. I'm impressed. Just think what you could have done if you hadn't run out of Sam Adams.:8:

3 SA, 2 Coronas and a shot. Can't handle your liquor? Or was it the Z6 fumes?;)

lol......

It wasn't the alcohol that made me pass out. It was the WAX ON- WAX OFF. Even my legs were sore the next day. It must have been the bending up and down for hours. A day of Zaino is a real workout.
Maybe I should make an exercise video. Weight loss and a shinny car in one step. I can call it Zainocise. $19.95 (Payment plans available). As seen on T.V.

Once you claybar the car you still have to dawn the car afterwards for a second time? Please confirm, thanks
WarpSpeed
Not necessary to clean with dawn a second time. But it can't hurt. I used the zaino car wash.

Not necessary if you were able to claybar everywhere that you would have washed.

For new cars (2 mo old), when would you recommend using the clay bar

I used the claybar when my car was new. Some people don't think it's necessary then but I wanted to make sure I started with a completely clean surface before I started polishing. It will remove any rail dust or other dirt picked up in transit from the factory to the dealer. I'm not sure how the MDX is covered while it is shipped but I do know mine came in on rail. Rail dust is very fine and abrasive so I wanted to make sure I got rid of it. The claybar will help smooth out paint imprefections such as orange peeling.

After the intiial application of the clay bar, I don't do it any more than once a year or when something gets on the finsish that can't be removed any other way.

Above all, just be very careful and take your time. It's a worthwhile cleaning step but it also has the potential for seriously damaging your finish if you don't do it right.

I just Zaino'd my 2 month old X and used the Claybar. Could not believe how much additional "stuff" was taken off. So I would say you would be able to Clay it now, was easier than I thought it would be and pretty quick.

Probably the hardest thing, for me anyways, was making sure I didn't drop the slippery fella. Well worth it. I am gonna to do this for my 98 and see if I can get that "showroom shine" back ;)

yup - i would clay any new car . . .first thing . . .

and after claying, you can wash the car with zaino wash - actually, i dont reload a bucket , i wet the car down and use a wash mitt to lather it up (after all, its dried car wash soap and water) - then rinse it off . . .

Seems like a lot of Z5 for a GG finish. I use about 1 coat for every 4 or 5 of Z2.

The jury's still out but the new Z5 may make Z2 unnecessary.
