Body misalignment - Click HERE for Original Thread

I got my MDX just a little two weeks ago. The second day I took it to work, my friends immediately pointed out the misalignment up front between the hood and the bumper. Called the dealer and brought it there today for service. They couldn't fix it and sent it to an outside body shop. They tried but it didn't help much. Have to schedule another appointment.

This MDX is beginning to make me nervous. I am already aware of this "click" problem and just wondering if there are other annoying "features". The service guy said some of their in-stock MDX also have some slight body misalignment so they were not surprised.

I will probably write a letter to Acura and complain about this.

Post a picture so we can all see what you're talking about.

I'm not suprised, I also have a similar problem. I also have misaligned rear windows in the far back. :3:

the front of my hood sticks out a little past the "bumper" trim; i just assumed that it was part of the design since it was uniform across the front.

does any one's front of their hood stick a little past the bumper trim?

Mine does, all the ones I've looked at are the same. I figured it was normal and it doesn't really bother me.

There's some "overhang" on all of them. As long as the portion of the hood near the windshield is aligned/even with the fenders then the overhang is normal.

There are two or three OLD threads (18-24 months+) discussing it (if we're talking about the same thing).

Do searches for "overhang", "hood" and "grill" and they'll show up.

I had exact same problem. One of my wife's friend noticed it when we tried to show off a bit. Really embarrassing.
The left side of front hood was cantilever out from the bumper and scratched the paint because the hood sat on the bumper.
I brought my x back to Frankel Acura in Maryland where I bought it and the service rep. first told me that the x was designed like that and no way to fix it however he said he would try to do something for me. It seemed like he was giving me a favor. That really made me mad.
One hour later, the hood was adjusted but still not symmetrical. The gap on the left was clearly smaller than the one on the right.
I was disappointed simply because the body panel assembling is one of area that Acura is most proud of.
I've brought back my x to the shop five time for other different reasons during the first month of ownership.
That wasn't a honeymoon to me. I'll definiely think twice before I have chances to but another Acura.
