Oh yeah... I love the lab on the computer screen. He rules!!!

After looking at these pics, people who own MDX's have the same taste in their vehicles as they do with their real estate

Daleb - I'm with you. My girls will be out of the house in a few short years and I'm downsizing. I'll give up the acre yard, 5000+ sq ft to clean, etc. I'd rather spend my time flying and golfing and not mowing grass and cleaning.

NYTFLYT... That *is* most impressive! Is this in your basement, [former] living room, or a totally separate wing to your mansion?

Hi Nytflyt:

___Now you have to tell me what kind of Projector you are using and have you ever connected an HTPC to it? I can guarantee you the best DVD display you have ever seen if you have had your FP ISF’ed ;)

___Good Luck

Pete, the H/T is on the first floor, I didn’t want the problems associated with a basement location.
Wayne, I have a JVC G-15 that has been calibrated. I don’t use a pc; I have a Rock+ scalar that does a very good job.
DaleB, Yes this is my passion I have been an audiophile and movie buff for years. I have had various H/T setups in the past but when I built this house, I wanted to have it all. I listen to music as much as watch movies that is why I built the room the way I did. If I wanted only movies, I would have built everything out of sight behind the screen.

I'd love to test my speakers on your setup :D

Hi Nytflyt:

___The Rock is an HTPC. I am an acquaintance with the coder as we were both mods over at the AVScience - Home Theater Computer forums in days gone by. Anyway, a properly setup HTPC with scoped outputs to your DILA (I have setup more than my fair share in the past) at 1360x1024p (4:3), 1360x768p (16:9), or even 1360x580p (2.35:1) via a late model Radeon equipped HTPC will show you the light, I can guarantee ;)

___Good Luck and I look forward to seeing some screen shots of an HTPC at high res to the big screen!

Hi Wayne,

I know the Rock+ is computer based but it doesn’t have some of the drawbacks of an htpc. I am going to upgrade to the new pro when it is available and that should be even better. I have a Panamorph lens so I have the output set to 1365x1024.

No, it's not pink (not that there's anything wrong with that). This was the only photo I had, which was taken at sundown so the color is misleading I guess. It is a bland yellow - I will repost it when I actually have a chance to take some pics during the day. Maybe I will park the MDX out in front.

It's really small:D . Actually, I just listed it that way b/c that's how they do it in the RE industry here (I guess in case a person has two half-baths in which case 3 BA might be misleading). I have seen listings here with 3.3 BA!

Yes, and while we were at it we got a special pink/gray road put in front of our house as well:D :D :D Just kidding - as I said above, there is a pinkish tint to it b/c it was at sundown. Boy, I better take a new pic this weekend before everyone runs out and buys a new monitor:p

Dont' do that! I like the color that I see. It's kind of salmon, or flesh-tone. Most contemporaries have stark color sidings.

This has been my home for 17 years but the kids have been gone for some time and it's time to downsize. This one is slightly over 5000 feet on a bluff lot overlooking Monterey Bay, California. It's too high (and steep) above the water to launch the kayaks so another reason to have the extended racks on the MDX (previous post) to get closer to an easier put-in.

Thanks greatscot, hammermdx and jswift200.

Yep, except for paying a guy with a backhoe to move some dirt I did it all myself. Has about 500 bricks, each one weighs 80+ lbs. The hardest part was getting the footing and the first row down. Had to compact 5 or 6 inches of 3/4 minus and spent a lot of time getting it level. After that I would just place about 25 to 30 bricks every evening after work. Had to put about 5 yards of drain rock behind the wall (12" min) and a French (or is it freedom?) drain behind the wall and at the bottom for proper drainage. Did the drain rock and back fill with a shovel and wheelbarrow.

I was concerned about it sagging but it made it through a very wet winter just fine.

Was as strong as the Hulk just after finishing the wall but now I'm back on the candy bars and returned to my flabby normal.

The first thing I did to celebrate completing this project last year was buy the MDX.
A2MDXer

Since the garage is under the first floor family room, the garage enters the house through the basement and so there is a full flight of stairs into the kitchen. Helps me keep in shape! LOL
