| does anyone else have this problem? i memorized my seat/mirror position into memory 1 but my number 1 remote doesn't recall it when i unlock the door with the remote. i have to push the button inside the door to get the seat to reposition. my wife's number 2 remote works just fine for her number 2 memorized seat/mirror position... any ideas? |

| Have you made sure the 1 key fob is "linked" what you do is. Push the lock and unlock keys at the same time. This process either links or unlinks, the memory seats, of course you want it linked. The instructions are on the back of the keyfob. |

| Sorry if this is obvious, but just in case you weren't aware, you need to actually physically open the door after you unlock your car with the key fob in order for the seat to be adjusted into the memorized location. Good luck. |

ok, that worked (link/unlink)... i searched in vain for that in the manual. i couldn't read that tiny print on the remote... :)
thanks for the help! |

Yup Wazowski you are correct, But I wish it would start as soon as you disarmed the alarm. |

I agree. :4: I suppose the engineers have a good reason for this "feature." Maybe to save the car battery in case the kids get a hold of mom and dad's key fobs? Who knows?!:8: |

It's probably a safety feature. Imagine yourself sitting in the driver's seat (seatbelt on) and your SO (who is much smaller) pushes her the fob by accident. The seat starts moving forward and before you realize what is happening, the seatbelt is too tight to unlatch and your belt size goes from a 38 to a 28 within seconds. |

A6MDX,
LOL!!! I often wondered the same thing and with my wife being 5'3", 110lbs and me being 6' 210lbs, I would screaming for help. Its no big deal to me. I wish they would have linked the seat and the mirrors. That would make things nice. |

The side mirrors are linked to the seat memory but not the rear view mirror... right? |

| Yup, side mirrors are linked to memory seat. |

We have a brand new '05 MDX and I have some questions regarding the memory feature:
1. Remote Entry: We have two remotes and they are suppose to be linked to the seating positions but I've found that not be true. If I am driving with the 2nd remote and then my wife drives the car with my keys and move the seat to position 1 then when I open the door with the remote later it doesn't automatically go to position 2. Has anybody else experienced this?
2. Position and Side Mirrors: Is the side mirrors part of the position programming? This is kind of frustrating if it isn't because getting the side mirror right usually takes the most time. I am pretty sure Lexus has this so I kind of taken it for granted when I bought the MDX.
Thanks in advance for any help with this. |

Each remote should control one of the two seating/mirror programming positions. If it doesn't then there is something wrong.
The side mirrors are part of the position programming.
Both of these seem to work fine on my X. That is strange that they don't seem to be working on yours! |

myu,
Are you sure you have saved Memory 1 and 2 in the system? It sounds to me like Memory 2 isn't saved.
Just covering bases here but you are UNLOCKING the door with the memory 2 remote, right? Just want to make sure you don't think there is some kind of passive device to reset the seat positions. |

| Read the back of the remote. Press the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously on the unlinked remote to re-link it with the car. |

| Zafer hit the nail on the head. More than likely the link is off on the #2 remote. |

And the number of blinks when you push both buttons on the key fob tells you if you're linking or unlinking.
This is, actually, in the Owners Manual. But you have to read through 7,000 page of cautionary crap before you get one good nugget. |

| Thanks. Got it to work tonight. |
