Inlaws sent some cash for a birthday gift. Gotta get something tangible. Help them pick...

I'll show the results to MrsWorm so she can review the runners-up for for father's Day ;)

Edit: Can't have inline images in Polls, so the links are to the images. So much for getting fancy.

DVD for sure.... easy call..:4:

Yardage Pro XL, I just had mine stolen a few weeks ago. There's nothing like a little self-doubt that you might have the wrong stick, to throw your game off. I like knowing the exact yardage, then you have no other excuses.

Happy Birthday! DVD is my vote.

Happy birthday!

I vote Replay TV upgrade. May seem weird to some but depending on how much you use it the upgrade is needed.
TheWorm
Thanks for the votes so far and the birthday wishes (it was actually this past Monday). I'm on the fence between all of 'em. Trying to balance fun-factor along with frequency-of-use, and the I-actually-need-it factor to the extent that exists:

PorterCable: My "old" waxmaster is on its last legs and our other car badly needs a full detail from scratch. I figure I'd use it every couple of months.

DVD Player for X: Already have the VCR and flipdown/headrest screens, so the DVD would be nice, though I think monthly use is a reasonably good bet for this one.

120hr Replay Upgrade: Our 30hr is going strong, but we use it on a daily basis for our shows and our daughters. Getting closer to the capacity limit as time goes by. This is their "older" model (3030) so we have no subscription fees. My concern is that 5400rpm drives are going the way of the dinosaur and the newer 7200rpm drives run too hot for the machine -- so at some point upgrading the unit will not be feasible. BTW, if you don't have a TiVo or Replay you are missing out; we've had it for 2+ years and it's the bomb.

YardagePro Rangefinders: My old ones (400 series) croaked and can't be repaired (Bushnell no longer has parts). Used 2x+ a month. Definitely miss 'em.

You should get something for you to enjoy regularly. I voted the RangeFinder because I think you enjoy your game and you currently don't have any alternative.

I always have problems deciding around birthday and Xmas what I want. It sometimes seems that after years of marriage, and accumulation of "stuff," you run out of ideas!

$250 in the Bay Area, Hummmm, go with the DVD or the ranger finder.

For the polishing kit why don't you get this. The good thing is it's cordless.

The PorterCable is recognized as the best random orbital for detailing. The cordless unit's an interesting idea, but a 4" pad isn't big enough and variable speed is better.

Nice Warzau... very nice
TheWorm
Good gift, warzau.

OK, well I'm actually leaning toward the PorterCable from the outlaws and will let MrsWorm get me the YardagePro for Father's Day.

Thinking of using the PS2 for DVD in the X for now, given the relatively infrequent use it would actually get. I'll buy the Replay upgrade "myself", and do the DIN-sized DVD for the center stack for somebody else's birthday :D

paul123 -- yea, the years start to fly by. I think this was discussed in the "how old are you?" thread some time ago: Wondering whether I'm the only one who can't remember (because it doesn't seem to matter) his own age anymore, and has to do the math: "Uh, 2003-1967 = 36. Uh, yea, 36". But act like I'm 15. Or so I'm told.
TheWorm
Oh, and the tentative decision was partly based on showing MrsWorm the poll results this morning. Her immediate comment was "why don't you just use that PS2 that's gathering dust for a DVD player?"

Every so often, she seems to make sense.
