Is it me or are we getting hit with a bunch of Trolls lately posing as MDX owners and complaining. This is a tactic I’ve seen used a lot over the years by "competitors" to degrade current owners feeling and make the vehicle look worse. You can usually tell by looking at the number of posts that the person has. Take a look at a few of the messages posted in the last few days. Its as if some competitors forum posted a link and a bunch of their owners came in.

Nothing new. There have always been trolls. Just like rats, they are attracted to even quality websites, doesn't matter how old or new the 'cheese' is... :2:

I don't pay much attention to new posters who show up with negative posts immediately after registering. Like y2ks2k said, someone will post a link from one forum onto another with a comment like "lets go tell em what we think" or something similar. I've seen it lots of times.

Even if it is legitimate, it is very misleading for the casual viewer of the forum. A lot of owners will never post until they have a problem, then they post a lot, which is very misleading. Why weren't they posting when they weren't having any problems telling us how great their MDX was.

When owners do have problems they tend to post a lot. This was evident on the TL forums regarding the transmission issue (which is very real), but owners who have had a transmission problem will post about it for years, even long after it was repaired on warranty.

A while ago someone on this forum posted about a transmission problem with their MDX. Immediately after there were several posts on Edmunds warning viewers to stay away from the MDX because they were having transmission problems. At the time myself along with some other members of this forum defended the MDX and the issue went away. What I'm trying to say is take what you read about problems with any vehicle with a grain of salt until it's very apparent that there is a real problem. Sorry for the long post.

Trolls are a fact of life -- I probably miss some valuable posts while I try to navigate around the trolls.
