Last week Tim from HAW posted that the MDX's are built in color batches. Well yesterday my dealer emailed me saying our GG was being built next Monday or Tuesday and would be on their lot 4/11 - 4/12. For all you GG waiting-to-be with April promise dates the end may be near.

GG Base due April
Thanks for the info on the GG. We heard from our dealer (Pohanka- Chantilly, VA) last week that our GG (Touring/Nav) was "born" on 3/15 (Ides of March?) and should be delivered soon. Hoping it makes it in time for my golf trip to Wilmington, NC next week! Wonder if new owners are ever allowed to visit the factory in Canada to see the birth?
Hopefully there will be a big Mahogany batch soon! I'm getting so tired of waiting. No one believes that I'm really getting a new car! I'm so anxious and very impatient!!!! Hubby and I cleaned out the garage last night so it'll fit whenever it comes. I was told May the latest soooo who knows. If I don't hear from the dealership in the next 3 weeks I'm gonna call just to check up on things and to see if they have heard anything. So far I've been very good and I haven't called them to bug them yet. Congrats on yours!
Don't be patient with your dealer. Unless you have a very substantial dollar deposit on an MDX, you better stay in touch with your dealer on a very regular basis. THE SQUEEKY WHEEL DOES GET ATTENTION.............

People with big bank accounts do BUY their position in line waiting for an MDX..............Think about it

My sales man just called me a minute ago to inform me that my Beige Touring MDX will be here around 4/15. Heeeeey Hawwwww !!!!
I agree with dodell's comments. I called my dealer the day before they got their list of cars to re-iterate my interest. The next day, I was the first one they called. I picked up my MDX 4 days later.
After reading your posts I decided to talk hubby into calling our sales rep to see if he knew anything new on our car, wellllllll come to find out that since we ordered our MDX 2 weeks ago, he no longer works there!!!! So we have a new rep and we wanted to make sure we weren't being shuffled around and won't get lost in the process. So far everything is fine..we didn't get lost and they're saying that they should be expecting build dates by April 15th. Which puts my MDX at arriving in the beginning of May! Hubby told him that if we didn't hear back from him by April 15th, that we would be calling him back to see what's going on. We don't want him to forget us and to get lost in the shuffle because we haven't made alittle noise. Hubby also made a few requests during this call, which was us wanting the driver and passenger front windows tinted and and a few other things...just so the guy knew we meant business in a suttle way I guess. Thanks you guys, I'll let you know what happens.
I've heard of so many of you out there that just keep getting screwed on the delivery dates for their vehicles for reasons like American Honda's supposed closure of the MDX plant for the whole month of December (oh, what a tangled web we weave!).

If the dealer gives you a solid delivery date, get the VIN. If you want to be sure once you have the VIN that you aren't surprised with the wrong MDX, call me and I can find out what trim level you have based on that VIN. Or without a VIN, there's other info I may be able to get that I can't say here. One person told me that their dealership's policy is not to release the VIN until such time as the vehicle is ready for delivery. What a crock of you-know-what.

Hey, next time one of you happens by the Buffalo area, let me know. As much as I love the MDX from what I've seen....I've never rode in one :(

Just got the call from our salesman that our new baby (GG/tour/nav) has arrived at the dealership! Exactly two weeks from build date to delivery in Northern Virginia. We put our first order in way back in November and then changed color selection in January which set us back another two months. We'll get our financial ducks in order today and then go in for the final inspection and pick up tomorrow evening. Hopefully we won't have any unpleasant "surprises." Hate it when the salesman disappears and you get stuck with some jerk who makes a hard sell on extended warranty, undercoating, etc. Our last car purchase was a Lexus (ES 300) and it was the most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. Let's see if Acura can do as well!
Tim,
I live in Syracuse and was given a confirmation number(803-03302-005) and an order reference number (42970), but no VIN. Crest Acura, swears that it will be here soon. Can you help me get the scoop on this?
In addition, what is the distribution system like? Are the trucks shipped from Canada via train to NY somewhere and then transported on a carrier to the dealer from a central node? Since they do color batches and other Black MDX's have been delivered this week, am I SOL until the next run?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.
