| I have a little red dot, about this size . on my NAV screen. It can most easily be seen on the MENU screen, it always seems to catch my eye, and is becoming bothersome. It is about ¾” from the screen edge on the left side, in the area between the Places and Previous Destination touch buttons. I could not find any threads on this topic, so I was wondering if I am the only one who has this problem (if you could call it a problem) or does anyone else have the little red dot? |

| Sounds like you have a bad pixel on the LCD screen. You can talk to the dealer and see if they will replace it. I have heard that on laptop computers, most companies won't replace the screen unless there are at least 3 bad pixels. |

Most LCDs are certified or guaranteed to be 99.99% defect-free. This means the manufacturers gave themselves .01% leeway that a defective pixel will be present on their LCDs.
I hope the dealer hook you up with a new screen...

What ever happened with your issue? Did the dealer replace? I've got the same problem and would like to know 1) if Acura will replace the Nav screen under warranty 2) people's opinions on whether it's worth letting the dealer tear apart my dash just to fix one bad pixel.
Thanks. |

Had the dealer look at it, they said if it gets worse they would change it. Hasn't got worse, and feel no need to fix it. |

| What you have is a stuck pixel, being a red one. If it was dead it would be black. Now I have done this to other LCD displays, but it up to you if you want to try it. I would flick the area with my finger, kinda flicking something off your finger ( use your imagination), not too hard or you might cause some to go out or get stuck. |

| The number of "bad" pixels is not the only criteria for rejection of a TFT (thin flim transistor) screen; its pixels per sq in (area). If there are 3 bad pixels but they are scattered all over the screen, the screen is still acceptable. In this case, if you start seeing more bad pixels showing up, you have a screen that should be replaced. |
