| I have been going to an Optometrist in Santa Fe for almost 2 years now, doing eye exercises and therapy. My close-up vision is back to 8 inches away, as opposed to 16 inches, and my prescription is now 20/40 as opposed to 20/200 and with astigmatism. He said the See Clearly Method is a variation of the 1930's Bates method, and is dumbed down. I found the thing that worked best for me was to get the Magic Eye books-you can find them at a used bookstore for very little money. Once you have the method down for seeing the images in the books in 3-D, work on bringing the image as close as possible to your face, without losing the 3-D image. Then move it side to side and up and down as far as you can, also without losing the 3-D image. Concentrate on seeing details clearly, then see about noticing details from the whole picture, without moving your eyes. Work on this about 15 minutes a day. Your eyes will be tired, so I found it best to do the exercises around bedtime. Both eyes have to work together to make the 3-D work and you need to get your brain used to having your eyes work again as a pair. This optometrist gave me the most thorough eye exam I have ever had, and he found that when reading, my left eye just shut off. Amazing, since I had never noticed it, but the test showed it clearly.:1: |

I have a version of that song by Ray Charles. I am not making this up. |
