A new series of ratings from NHTSA. It does not evaluate the actual safety of the car seat, but their assessment on how easy the seat is to install. A properly installed seat = a safe seat.
I'd have preferred actual crash tests, but perhaps that's in the future.

Most people don't install the seats tightly enough. It is a big problem.
I have a four year old who is TALL. He outgrew his toddler seat, but I didn't feel right putting him in without a seat. I bought a Jupiter, which is lightweight but has a terrific safety design.
Can't say enough about appropriate seats for the kids. |

| The Jupiter seats, along with the Britax boosters, are terrific. I like the Jupiter's designs, and the EPS foam core. |

| I have the Britax Expressway with the ISO-fit Latch system that click in the second row with ease. I see it was highly rated and very easy for install and disconnecting, I only keep this seat in the MDX when I need it, otherwise I take out during the work week. |

The Jupiter and the Britax are excellent choices. I chose the Jupiter (a brand I'd never heard of before) after a lot of research, and then comparing the two. I really like the light weight of the Jupiter (easy to take in and out) and the foam design which makes it extra safe.
Before the Jupiter I had the Britax Roundabout (for smaller kids) and it was very good, too. |

I have 2 of the britax expressway, they went into the MDX like a dream!!
my kids are about to out grow them and I am really not sure where to go with boosters, I am thinking of the graco turbo with the back and they seemed to like it. Anyone use it? |

| Twinmom - I have the Graco Turbo Booster and I LOVE IT!! It's VERY easy to use, and my DD 5 also LOVES it!! She loves the arm rests and the hidden cup holders. I feel this seat is basically the same as the Britax Booster, but for half the price!!! Now, I'm a big Britax customer. DD used the Roundabout, and DS currently is in a Marathon. I've had no problems with it and would definately recommend it. Actually, I was going to get the Britax Booster, but DD didn't like the headrest. So, I looked a little further and then found the Turbo Booster, and I haven't been sorry!! |

The Jupiter will take you to 10-11 years old and 80 pounds. It was rated as one of the safest, best seats around. It starts off with a back, and even a headrest for when your kid nods off. You can eventually remove the back for seat only.
I did lots of research, and am a big fan of "Baby Bargains" (the book and also a web site). They have a toddler site with a great bulletin board. I got lots of my information from them. http://www.windsorpeak.com/toddlerbargains/default.html
