Just wondering if it is possible to remove the second row access seat? Need to get 3 carseats in the MDX and do NOT want to put 3 across (or get a minivan).
Thanks, Kelly |

Hi Kelly,
I really do not think you can remove any seat in the MDX, I recently purchased a 03 X and it just doesnt seem possible without doing some damage to the car.
I do have a booster seat in the 3rd row and a infant car seat in the 2nd row. If you dont want to put 3 together in a row then your best bet is to put one in the 3rd row.
 |

| I dont think you can, I assume they are all on the same frame and the 2nd row access seat just rides on rails. Im sure you can with some modification, but you will void you warranty, etc, etc, etc. |

| You probably can. If I recall correctly (when I did the second row mats) it was a separate frame. In the first photo in the link above you can see the two mounted side-by-side. Atten. to the second photo- there isn't a similar mount symmetrically on the other side underneath the stationary section. |

Wow, quick responses! I think you can do it- the seat in question is on its own frame. I will have 3 in 5pt harnesses - I was thinking of putting the 4 and 2 yo in the 3rd row in their Super Elites (they are very big) and the baby in the middle of the second row. The only way I could do this is with the appropriate access and me not having to be a contortionist would be the remove that seat or get a minivan (yuk).
Has anyone done it or would anyone do it?
Thanks, Kelly |

I had taken all seats out when doing my audio upgrade and running cable under carpet.
The middle row has two components to it. The Driver side is a 2 person fixed position bench which has bolts front and back under the plastic covers.
the Passenger side is a single seat (the one that slides back and forth) to gain entry to 3rd row comes out quite easily (4 bolts if I remember correctly) Use a socket wrench with an extension drive. Just a few minutes to remove, and really opens up the walkway to the 3rd row. |

| Just check and yes you can remove them via bolts so it can be removed. Uhh I think I just said that. |

If you load the kids in through the open rear hatch, the 2 and 4 year olds can get into their own seats; all you'd have to do is buckle them in while leaning over the second-row seatbacks. They'll like showing you what big boys (or girls) they are! My grandsons sure do, and they're a few months younger than 4 and 2. |

Do you mean buckle in a booster or a 5 pt harness? |

| I don't know the "5-point" terminology, but it's the harness on a Britax seat facing forward. Also works for the harness in the older boy's Cosco(?) which can later be turned into a booster. |
