Keyspan Park, home of the minor league baseball team The Brooklyn Cyclones. Off in the distance is the old parachute jump which will reopen sometime in the future.

Thanks all for the compliments! ::):

paul123 I know what you mean and feel the same way. I've been visiting the Brooklyn Promenade for years and I use to love going there on dates in the past. Dinner usually started in one of the quaint restaurants on Montague St. After, I would take my date to the Promenade and with the romantic mood and the beautifully lit skyline I always had a kiss by Pineapple St.

Today, the skyline still is beautiful but like you said I do get tears in my eyes when I remember what had happened on 9/11. May God bless them all.

BklynMDX,

I have never been to New York, but I understand that Nathan's serves up a pretty good hot dog. Can you tell us about your experiences at this famous landmark please?:)

No doubt the BEST franks and cheese fries on the planet!

Honestly I've only been to Nathan's at Coney Island a few times growing up. As for history, my experiences and memories from childhood have been next door at Astroland Amusement Park where my parents took me since I was a toddler. It's a great little amusement park next to the boardwalk. I remember my parents and I walking from our little house in Brighton Beach from the beginning of the boardwalk on the east end all the way to Astroland and before we would enter my dad would get me cotton candy from the food stand with the Astroland Rocket. They also had great hamburgers, corn dogs, kinishes and sausage with peppers. I also didn't ride the Cyclone until I was much older, of course, and let me tell you it is a scary ride.

As for the best foods in Brooklyn, I'm sure to raise much debate on this subject:
  • Hotdogs - Nathan's, a distant second - Sabrett hotdog stands
  • Kinishes - Mrs. Stahl's in Brighton Beach
  • Kosher Deli - Edelman's on Kings Highway
  • Bagels - Terrace Bagels on Prospect Park West
  • Pizza - J & R Pizza on Flatbush Ave
  • Spumoni - Spumoni Gardens on 86th St
  • Italian Food - Too many to list
  • Greek - Sahara on Coney Island Ave
  • Chinese - Ocean Palace on Ave U
  • American Fastfood - Roll-N-Roaster at Sheephead Bay
  • Steak - Peter Luger at Williamsburg
  • Fine Dining - The River Cafe on Water St
If you guys have any suggestions for great Filipino, Russian, Vietnamese, Thai or any other restaurants in Brooklyn please let me know.

3rd that motion :29:
Very nice pics, I have never been to NY but your pics set a "Big Apple" mood, skyscrapers, hot dogs, and what a beautiful X you have. That parachute tower brings back some memories of Jump School at Ft. Benning, GA. Thanks for the great tour of NY.
