Cool! I hope they make one compatible with the MDX! In the meantime, I'm still using my cassette adapter, which seems to sound okay. Maybe ignorance is bliss?
I admit that I have been eying the BlitzSafe adapter that many others have mentioned frequently in this forum (BlitzSafe HON/ALP DMX V.1). I haven't been able to convince myself yet that my cassette adapter sounds that bad to justify the cost and effort.
Has anyone else added the BlitzSafe connector to their MDX for their iPod? Is it a noticeable improvement over a cassette adapter? Thanks in advance! |

Is the cassette adapter designed specifically for the iPod, or can it be used with other MP3 players as well. I have a Rio S50 that I would like to listen to in my MDX, and was wondering if there is a similar adapter available? Also, is there a cigarette lighter power adapter available for the S50?
Anyone know? |

| You can use the blitzsafe "aux" adapter with anything with RCA plugs out (or a headphone cable, for that matter). But this won't control the unit, just pump the sound through. As far as DC, no clue. |

| I use the cassette adapter with my RIO and agree with a previous post that the sound really isn't that bad. |

| I've done the casette adapter thing, it sounds okay. Problem is, it doesn't look good. Looks cheap/hokey. |

hockeyplayer,
What do you use for power, Rio's batteries or an external AC adapter? |

As long as it does not sound bad (not worse than the MDX's CD player), I don't mind the look. This would not be a permanent installation, but rather would be used on occasional long trips. |

| I use the cassette adapter for my iPod primarily because I'm too cheap and lazy to put the blitzsafe in both cars (X and TL) and I think I'd like it so much that I'd hate using the cassette adapter if I only put the blitzsafe in one car (what a runon sentence) and didn't have one in the other car but maybe I'll splurge when they come out with the one that controls the iPod because I too don't like controlling the iPod while I'm driving primarily because it's hard to see the screen when the sun is shining here in south Florida! |

I just use rechargeable batteries. They last quite a long time due to the automatic shutoff feature.. I Like to load the Rio up with some good songs to listen to in the morning because I get sick of all the talking on the radio. I listen to CD's mostly but it is really convenient to load it up with the latest and greatest songs. My Rio has a neoprene cover as well so when I sit it under the CD player it doesn't rattle. |

hockeyplayer,
Which Rio player do you have and what kind of cassette adapter are you using? Is it a model that's specific to your Rio player or is it universal?
I am trying to find a cassette adapter for my Rio S50, and can't seem to find any on Rio's web site that are designed to work with Rio S50.
Thanks. |
