Snow Tires - Click HERE for Original Thread

Has anyone contemplated snow tires for the MDX? The Michelin Cross Terrain tires are fine for most conditions. They handle well and work fine in powder snow of about any depth. They are terrible in heavy wet shlop. There is barely any traction at all. I just made it out this morning in 5" of wet slushy snow. It struggled all the way. Luckily there were tire impressions from last night. After that I felt like I was going to lose it at 35-40mph several times on slush covered roads. The back end kept starting to slide out.

I've seen Michelin makes one (doesn't look very aggressive - $110 ea.) and I believe other is made by Dunlop (looks a lot more agressive, but about $188 ea). I hope that price on the Dunlop will come down it's a little steep! I wonder if Perelli or Bridgestone will get into the action.

Just something to think about for next year when the money isn't pinched as much as it presently is. Is Spring coming any time soon in the Northeast???
Don't know about spring, were getting a heavy dump of wet spring snow this morning, should continue all weekend. This on top of the muddy dirt road that leads down the hill from my house to the highway, should be plenty of off-road action going to get the mail today. So far I have no complaints about traction, but this will be a whole new thing, will keep you posted..
