Hi all,

I would like your opinion on whether having 1 5 channel amp is better than 4 channel plus a mono amp.

I've read that the Eclipse 5 channel amp is low profile enough to fit in the head rest storage compartment and still allow one to remove the headrests. The power is so-so in this unit. I'm not looking for super duper bass so I'm guessing this will fill my need.

Any opinions?

I went with a single three channel amp. Actually a four channel running in three channel mode (channels one and two for left and right, channels three and four bridged for the sub).

Works great, mounted under the drivers seat.

If your installing it yourself. One amp is easier to install than two. One amp will look cleaner. Two looks better for show. In my other car I have three amps (front, rear, sub) With two amp install, if somthing goes bad you can replace parts individually. But I haven't had much problems with amps. I personally would go with one amp, considering all other things being equal, because I would do the install myself.
