| RejeX was mentioned in a C&D article (Audi A4 3.0 CVT Long Term Test; Baubles and Bolt-Ons). It's supposed to make it easier to clean off bugs, tar and other road crap. Has anyone ever tried it? |

| Several coats of Zaino has a similar effect. May not quite as effective as Rejex..but maybe Rejex does not have as good a shine either. |

| Just received some today. I plan on trying it for its claimed easy bug removal. My test will be to try it on my Honda's bumper, but only half the bumper. The other half will have Zaino, so I think it will be a pretty good comparison. Stay tuned to this space. I may even take a photo if the product seems to work. |

Excellent! I wait for your test results :D |

OK, first test results installment. I cleaned the driver's side of the bumper to try to remove the Zaino that was already there. I left the other side alone, other that cleaing it with a wet towel. I applied another Zaino coat to the left side (as viewed from the front of the car) and RejeX to the right side. They were similar in application ease, but the Rejex seemed to use more of the product. I used opposite sides of a foam applicator, to keep things as equal as possible. I waited about 1/2 hour before removal, and used opposite sides of the same towel to remove, trying to avoid cross-contamination. Removal ease was similar, but I'd give a slight edge to the RejeX. Temp. was in the mid 80's in the garage, which is about the max. according to the RejeX bottle. RejeX also says to let it sit out of bright sunlight and "the elements" for 12 hours. It'll get about 9 hours before the car has to go to work again, but it'll have 12 hours before hot sun hits it, so I think it should be OK per the instructions.
I'll try to post a not-yet-too-revealing photo, taken without flash inside my garage. The color of the Civic is Tafetta White (same as MDX color), but it shows yellowish due to incandescent light and lack of color balance correction on the shot. The hood has 2 month old Zaino, with a day's dust accumulation. Honestly, I can't tell any difference in shine between the bumper sides. A dark color would be more likely to show any difference. Interestingly, just running my bare hand over the surface, the RejeX side feels definitely slicker than the Zaino side.
It'll be a few days at least before I know much on how each side handles insects. I'd like a few day's accumulation. What I'm thinking of doing is trying a light, dry wipe of part of each side to see if they adhere differently to the sides, and then a wet wipe. If there's a difference visible, I'll post another picture.
I'm of course curious if it's just another polymer "wax" or something a little better. Like lots of products, it seems to claim to be a near-magical coating over the surface of the paint. It seems to have good credentials, with supposed use (or use of similar products) by the aircraft industry. |

| A good coat of was ie: Mother's and some elbow grease will go a long way. I've seen products over the years that claim to do wonders, reality is, wax your car and and wash it on a regular basis, no need for *.X products. |

Dale,
How's the Rejex doing? |

It's been almost 3 weeks, I guess, since I applied it. I haven't washed the car yet. For one thing, the temperature has been about 100 or above every day. I'm also waiting for a good collection of bumper bugs, and for them to get nicely baked on.
Initial input: Both sides of the bumper look the same as far as number of bugs sticking. The RejeX doesn't keep bugs from sticking to the paint in the first place. No surprise there.
I may do the final removal test this weekend, and will post again. Right now, if I had to guess, I'd say that there won't be much difference between the Zaino side and RejeX side. But maybe I'll be surprised and water will cause everything to "slide off" the RejeX side. |

Results are in!
After almost 3 weeks of baked on bugs, I first took photos of both the left and right sides of the bumper. Then I ran water over both sides from a hose, without pressure, as equally as I could. I just let the water flow over the bumper. There was no notable difference between the sides. The bugs didn't just drop off either the Zaino or RejeX side. (No surprise).
Next I used a water soaked wash cloth to gently wipe each side. (Maybe 5 sec. per side). No scrubbing allowed. Then I rinsed with water again. Then I took photos of each side again.
The right side was definitely a little more free of bugs, and I do think it's the product, not differences in washing, but this isn't exactly a scientific test. So, RejeX won this test, but I don't really consider it a miracle product. I'll probably keep using it just to get a long-term opinion (and I'll report back). But these initial results are encouraging!
Posted with this message is the "Before" photo of the left (Zaino) side. |

| Here's the "after" photo, still wet, of the left (Zaino) side. Note that some bugs are visible, but most are gone. This photo is cropped and enlarged compared to the photos above, obviously. |

| Here's the "after" photo of the right (RejeX) side. Bug remnants almost completely gone, but there were some there. I had to crop this photo slightly differently due to the shadow from the license plate. |

| Thanks for your research & results, Dale MDX. Sounds like you tried your best to make it an even competition between RejeX & Zaino. I think I'll try to find some RejeX in my neck of the woods. |
