I'm wondering if anyone has used 'Xpel' Its a thin clear sheet, 3M used to protect the hood, bumper, mirrors, etc. from bugs, rocks, etc.
try www.xpel.com
I'm thinking about using this instead of the front air deflector.
Thanks |

| Hmm interesting.... one thing though.... why do they only show "expensive" cars on their website? Advertising gimmick. It would be nice to read actual testimonials before. |

I've been wondering the same thing. It is certainly less expensive to go with the front air deflector. My only concerns are how much noise it would cause at highway speeds and how well it would actually prevent dings/chips on the hood (besides keeping bugs of the winshield). Anyone with experience with either/both?

Okay, here's my TheRobSJ impression: if you use that stuff on your car, you'll just be giving more money to crappy Acura and end up more butt-hurt than ever. ;)
Actually, I saw that 3M product on an MDX in my dealership's showroom. If I was buying a new vehicle, I would definately get it. No way it will affect the wind noise, but if a rock is large enough, you will get a dent before the paint would chip. |

.....I just might get this installed as well! :) ......I wanted to put the hood deflector, but I just HATE the way it makes the vehicle look.....it's so F*CKING UGLY :16: ........and I'm sure it screws up the aerodynamics as well  , even if to a small extent .......I even considered the "bra" ....oops! "nose mask" to be politically correct  ......and that thing is even worse!! Not only is it hideous, but it might cause even more problems like rusting/corrosion if it's not dried out when it rains or the car is washed, not to mention putting it on and taking it off is a PROFESSION by itself  |

| Vicpai, if it screws up the aerodynamics, then you must fret about bird droppings for the same reason. ;) |

| Okay, here's one more impression of TheRobSJ: ... but if you load me up with donuts, and pay me twice by giving me a generous tip for doing my job, I'll put it on! That way, you'll love how it looks and your Acura will nearly be as good as my old Chevy truck. ;) |
