I don't like how you set the "users can only post one message every 60 seconds" rule. I don't think that helps anything. If that member really want to post more, you can't stop it, that 60 second rule can't stop him, he'll just post slowly. For the people who post multiple pictures I think it's very annoying and inconvenient. I think it's annoying and inconvenient myself too. Could you cancel that rule? To be honest, I think it's useless, it just makes us members annoyed.

I've disabled the flood control "feature". Not sure when (or why) it was turned on...might've been inadvertent during a restore/upgrade...

Unless admin tells us otherwise, of course.

Captain MDX,

This is just a guess, but I think the 60 second "rule" may be required/desired for software code, that performs general index housekeeping on the SQL server databases, at the user-id level... I doubt it's an arbitrary rule...

It wasn't enabled before...nor is it on the Pilot site. I *hope* I didn't undo one of admin's INTENDED settings, which might be because of the recent/frequent "too many users" err msgs from the hosting co's SQL database.

I guess we'll find out :) The 60 second rule makes little difference for most folks, but I can see it causing difficulty for someone uploading multiple how-to pics in a single thread.

It has happened to me once - It will stop the inflating of post counts by stopping run-on posting (one sentence posted one word at a time - I know there are a few guilty parties;) )

Whoops...it was enabled intentionally. Related to the recent "too many connection" SQL errors.

I've re-enabled it but the timing has been reduced to 30 seconds. So, we'll see how things go.

I think that'll be a decent balance between post-whoring multiple one-word-posts vs uploading multiple pics in a thread.

Come back here and report if there are any problems.
