A fellow ebay'er and Mopar expert sent me the following information about these tailights....
The C-130 Hercules transport plane, powered by her four Allison AE21 00D3 Turboprops, cruising at altitude (32,000 ft) and empty (75,562 lbs) and barring any significant headwind, has a top speed of 400 mph. For a vehicle pushed out of the cargo bay onto a flat asphalt track to attain a 1/4 mile time of one (1) second, then the aircraft would need to be traveling in excess of 900 (nine-hundred) miles per hour, or approximately 1 1/3 the speed of sound. Unless you meant that the aircraft was placed into a high altitude power dive, throttled to the walls, and placed into a screaming death spiral. Thus, barring any problems (wings, rudder and tail shearing from the fuselage, sudden absence of gravity, aluminum skin becoming molten (1200 deg F), or an act of God), it may be possible to attain a speed of 900+ mph before impacting the earth’s surface. (Of course, you would have to shove the car out at T minus 1 second) In which case I would love to watch, and calculate the diameter of the crater.
