I don't know if I've set the record for "most posts before 'the big event' " but with my first posts registering sometime in FEBRUARY of '01 and this being July of '03 there can't be many folks ahead of me...

The MBP 188 is in our garage now. It is awesome. I'm in the "Christmas morning afterglow stage"...

We ended up at Rizza Acura. We were very pleasantly surprised by how responsive our sales consultant has been. He was willing to work on finding the exact vehicle we wanted in the time frame we laid out and gave us a more than far price both on the vehicle and the fleet of POS trade-ins I wanted to get rid of.

FIVE STARS for Joe Storti!!!

(BTW We got "the PEN" & "the Key Chain") :D They also gave us a nice gift of travel tumbler and vacuum bottle -- not quite Lexus, but WAY better than the 'imaginary bag of air' 90% of Acura hand you as they take your money...

I also have to give FIVE STARS to Jim Mac, the GM. We have been to all NINE Acura stores in Chicagoland and he was the ONLY GM that seemed to greenlight the kind of deal we wanted to make.

Let me be clear, I KNOW I could have saved a few bucks more by going with a deal from TX or OH (and I DID have 'em lined up) but with a new baby and an 18 month old daughter I really did not want to have to travel or deal with arranging shipping. EVERY other Acura store acted like we were dreaming that we could get a fair deal on the MDX of our choosing . Jim Mac & Joe Storti were more than honest! To the other stores __WAKE UP__!

They are not "crazy, crazy, crazy" though, they wouldn't match Tim's prices, and I don't hold that against 'em -- in fact I did get the towing package from 'em because I knew I just would not have the time to do that much work on my own.

BUT WE WILL BE SENDING TIM some business real soon -- the chrome side steps are VERY HIGH on our wish list, along with a whole BUNCH of other goodies!!!

OK, here's the "hot from the camcorder" pic:

Congratulations, it has indeed been a long time. I like the MBP color a lot too, pity it wasn't available when I bought my MDX.

renov8r,

You had me going all this time also. I thought you already had an MDX. Q: Hey, how come my dealer didn't give me a tennis ball when I bought my MDX?:1pat:

Though just recently registered, I've been watching this list for almost a year and a half now. I really thought you were an X owner already. Anyhow, congratulations and enjoy your new ride.

Congrats!

Congrats....How long did it take for the dealer to find you a car? I had to order one at the beginning of June that is supposed to be in at the end of July. And what is this about a gift from the dealer?
JTM
Congrats~~~

and we need more photos of your new X, instead of the tennis ball. :p

Hi Renov8r and Renov8tress:

___And all this time I thought you 2 were X owners as well … Congrats to the nth degree! I was up to 857 and I believe Vic Pai was up around 650 or 700 when he pulled the trigger. You do indeed own the title from what I have seen :D

___On another note, beautiful color. I saw Rjmitche’s MBP X in up close and in person a few months ago and it is indeed a great color choice!

___Good Luck and once again, congrats.

PS: Don’t forget about the Midwest Group meet in just 2 more weeks to show off your brand new X!
