The MDX is a good vehicle but make sure you're happy with the bottom line. Everyone has different requirements/needs so there's a bunch of stuff that's involved with making purchase.
Walk away from the deal if it doesn't feel right for.

What a difference a day can make. 1.5 hours drive down, 1.5 hours there, .5 hour at McDonald's for some play time, 1.5 hours back.
Total 5 hours of extra work but well worth it.
I will post an open letter to the dealer when the vehicle is delivered Wednesday or Thursday and hopefully I am still happy. But if anyone is near Huntsville AL and is about to purchase, give Robert Cowley at Jerry Damson Acura a call 256-694-5192 or email email@damson.com.
Over the phone they gave me an estimate of my trade in and a commitment on sale price. I will admit I arrived anticipating they would convince me that the trade in wasn't what they expected or there we some fees or packages they hadn't mentioned, and I would have to pay more. To the contrary we closed the deal with exactly what we had discussed on the phone. No pressure for extra features other than they said I should check to see if I can save on insurance by having the glass etched and would sell a theft package for $129. (includes some insurance as well as marking vehicle)
The only change to what we had discussed on the phone was instead of waiting until next month for a car they tracked one down they can deliver this week and promise it will arrive with less than 200 miles on it.
Compared to dealing directly with our local dealer this trip saved me well over $4000! (partially due to increased trade in value significantly lowering sales tax)
I will update after Robert drops the MDX off and picks up the trade in at my home on Wednesday or Thursday. |

CONGRATULATIONS. I'm sure it was well worth the wait. I couldn't have stood the waiting. I'm one of the lucky one who didn't wait for his MDX.
I had actually been looking at the Pilot and had convinced myself that I could live without the X's extra features ( sunroof, BOTH DVD and RES) and the Pilot's lack of styling. When the dealer couldn't find the Pilot I wanted, I decided to test drive the MDX. I had in mind the exact MDX I would want, and sure enough, the first one the dealer showed me was EXACTLY the one I wanted. An hour later, I owned an MDX.
Anyway, glad you had the patience to wait and enjoy it! |
