but this is the first generation to idolize some really lowlife scum. have you listened to what most rap lyrics are? this stuff is mainstream now. vile words, concepts and actions are now the norm. i don't really think elvis posed this kind of danger. and our kid's money is making this trash rich. |

| The Pdiddy Navigator costs $30,000 more then a stock navigator. All you get in return is 22" rims, metalic paint, and a vibrating seat? I would think an extra $10,000 for those features is more reasonable. |

I understand your point. However, I bet the Elvis hip thrusts ect, were probably just as disturbing to the parents of yesteryear. Now thrusts are replaced with crotch grabbing, more exlpicit lyrics, ect. It will be interesting to see the 'next level' of entertainment. What will our grand children see... What ever it is, our society will adapt as it always has.... Interesting times.:4: |

Don't forget the Sean Jean 'label/image' costs... Snoop already has a Cadilac version. I guess Russell Simmonds/Phat Farm, Dr. Dre/Aftermath, ect, will be coming out with their editions of a car next... :D |

Rap music is no worse than that Heavy Metal and Acid Rock Crap. You want to talk about music and lyrics, listen to some of that mess.
Have you noticed who is buying the rap music, Russel Simmons and Sean Jean clothing lineup. How many kids do you see wearing baggy pants now. It's not just all African Americans, it Caucasians, Hispanics and Asian youths. They are the one's who helping make these rappers and their clothing lineup MILLIONAIRES.
So before we stereotype an peticular race/music, take an look at your own race/music. |

papawoolf is right on point. It's the kids in the suburbs that are putting money into these rappers pockets. Let's not forget that P. Diddy is a producer first and rapper second. He's raking in cash from every angle.
Oh, and number6, every baller knows that gold chains are out and platinum is in. |

Yes, i agree that today's 'music' pushes boundaries, but how 'bout the words written 30 years ago:
"Hey joe.. I heard you shot your woman down..."
"Goin' down to shoot my old lady...caught her messin' round with another man.."
Is music a reflection of culture or is culture the reflection of the music? |
