Over the last week, I've been following a thread (with much EXCITEMENT :awais: ) about the new '04 TL over at another website (TSX), which I came across thru www.acura-tl.com!!
There is a lot of info on there and some of the guys appear to have "insider info": Here are some credible rumors, though they are not fully confirmed at this point:
- Horsepower will not break the 300bhp barrier (supposedly in the 270-300 range in different trims). Additionally some rumors that engine displacement has gone up to 3.5L (that would mean TONS of that "all desirable" TORQUE)
- VTM-4 all-wheel-drive will likely be standard, or at least available as an option (not sure how it will be packaged though)
- It does have actual side-mirrors (unlike the concept vehicle at NY auto show which had tiny cameras)
- There will be a HPT model (probably a high-performance version like the current Type-S)
- In addition to the 5-speed auto, there will be a choice of a 6-speed transmission available (not sure if there's both a manual and auto version of this tranny, and/or how it will be packaged in different trims)
- They say no Brembo brakes (as in the NY Auto show concept)

BTW, a trusted reliable insider on that website (I think he's a Acura Sales Manager) confirmed that there are NO CHANGES for the 2004 MDX, except for new colors |
